    Proposal summary:

The Alternative Manure Management Research Project is showing promising results in removing phosphorous from manure, allowing for production of energy from manure and creating a liquid discharge that meets clean water requirements. This grant will support a farmer who will conduct educational programs for producers and the general public about the Alternative Manure Management Research Project. The farm conducting the research will offer farm visits, brochures, and posters, will participate in meetings off-site, and will hold a field day for government officials and local legislators. These activities will teach others about how the biological processes being used in the research can reduce waste management costs for farmers.
